Immunization Requirements
If you were born after 1956. you must comply with the Maine Post-secondary School Immunization Law before you register for classes at UMF. If you were born in or before 1956, please disregard this notice.
If you were born after December 31, 1956, you must submit the following to the Student Health Center at UMF.
A signed statement from a health official who administered vaccines for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria in the past 10 years
- Two Mumps, measles, rubella vaccines after your first birthday OR
- A secondary school health record showing the above OR
- Copies of laboratory evidence of immunity
If you do not have access to these records, you must be re-immunized before attending U MF activities or classes.
Immunizations are available at the Student Health Center.
Exceptions
You may submit a physician’s statement that immunization against one or more of these diseases is medically inadvisable. You must meet the immunization requirement for those diseases not covered by the statement.
You may state in writing an opposition to immunization because of a sincere religious belief or for moral, philosophical or other personal reasons.
Please be aware that students who choose one of these exceptions and who do not provide immunity from a disease, will be excluded from the school during the danger period ( 15-23 days) when there is a case of disease on campus.
